If you use a wheelchair you are mobile but you will still have accessibility problems. Its all good having the whelchair to get you around, but whats the use if you can not access such areas like stairscases and raised surfaces. Adding a wheelchair ramp is a good idea but you can’t possibliy have wheelchair ramps in all locatons it is just not feasible. This is where the portable wheelchair ramp comes in very handy.

Portable wheelchair ramps are designed in th way they can be very portable, they will easily fold up, roll up, or dismantled and can be transported where ever you go. They are constructed from lightweight materials such as aluminum to make them as light as possible and easy to carry around.

Portable Wheelchair Ramp Types

Thereare 3 main types of wheelchair ramps as follows:

Folding Portable Wheelchair Ramps: There four basic types of folding ramps, the most basic is a folding ramp into a neat and small package. These style of ramps are great for around the house or travelling and are very portable. Folding wheelchair ramps can further be divided into the following:

Single Fold Portable Wheelchair Ramp: they fold along the longest length down the centre and are very fast to set up and easy to transport around.

Dual Fold Portable Wheelchair Ramps: They fold an additional time compared to the single fold ramp and can be longer and wider due to the extra fold. When fully folded they are more cmpact than single fold ramps.

Tri Fold Portable Wheelchair Ramps: Such portable ramps, which fold three times, can be used for many applications. By there nature these ramps will fold even smaller and are easier to transport around.

Roll-up Portable Wheelchair Ramps: These ramps dont actually fold but rollup its a ver compact package that can be carried with ease. Great for limited storage, transportation and in the home use.

Suitcase Portable Wheelchair Ramps: When folded up they remind you of a suitcase and are actually carried in the same manner.
